Your first Campaign: The Best ad Channel Choices
When using Geobid, you must first decide which would be the best ad channel to meet your campaign goals. Is it web display ads on newsites and blogs such as USA Today, Forbes, CNN, etc.? Is it social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.? Is it Geofencing, or should you use all 3 channels?
If you are a small business and new to site retargeting/web remarketing, we suggest you start with just web display ads and Facebook before moving onto Geofencing. If you are currently using a site retargeting company (who most likely is charging you 30%-40% of ad spend), then switching to Geobid’s flat 15% only fee is a no-brainer. You should also consider adding Geobid’s social media partners (ie. Facebook & Instagram) to your ad campaigns. We suggest you call us directly to discuss the most effective strategy to properly use Geofencing.
As a rule of thumb, Facebook ads are both more expensive and more engaging than web display ads. Also, “newsfeed” ads on Facebook are both more expensive and more engaging than Facebook “right-hand side” ads. There is a good reason for this.
Studies regarding Facebook ads have shown that although the right-hand side ads have a much larger “reach”, they are viewed far less often than the newsfeed ads. One study found the newsfeed ad Click Through Rate (CTR) to be above 1%, and had a 3 times higher Click Through Conversions Rate (CTC) than the right-hand side ads. This is why the Cost Per Thousand Impressions (CPM) is relatively high at $10-$25, but it is well worth the price.
